Stars For Peace
Peter Cetera played at this year’s series of World Peace Concerts in Hiroshima, which marks the 68th anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb on Aug. 8.

The concerts are sponsored by the city government to promote peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons worldwide.
Cetera played at Ueno Gakuen Hall July 27, along with soprano Michie Nakamaru and soul singer Crystal Kay.
Then Quincy Jones and his big band played Hiroshima Green Hall for the festival on Aug. 3 along with K-pop group Kara and J-pop group Anzen Chitai. Vocalists who came with Jones included Patti Austin and James Ingram. Avril Lavigne was originally scheduled to perform solo during the weeklong festivities, but canceled in the middle of June.
