New High For SIS

The  enjoyed its highest attendance ever in June, thanks to three concert tours and one sporting event.

SIS hosted three sold-out shows by Taiwanese singer-songwriter Jay Chou  two performances by the Taiwanese alternative rock band Mayday, a concert by Korean producer-singer G-Dragon, and an international badminton event.

Attendance for the entire month was 81,090, the highest monthly figure since February 2011, a month where the venue hosted the EaglesEric ClaptonTaylor SwiftIron Maiden and 

According to Mark Collins, managing director of Global Spectrum Asia, “This is not only a landmark achievement for SIS, but for the whole of Global Spectrum. This success is testament to the great work our team does on a daily basis to bring in zeitgeist events. The SIS is an iconic venue that attracts world-class acts in sport and entertainment to Singapore.”

SIS, which opened in 1989, will be incorporated into a complex of venues called the Singapore Sports Hub when it opens in April of next year.
