Odds & Ends: *NSYNC, Jonas Brothers, Chris Young
“Hawaii R u ready? Coming to u on 9/26,” Jonas Brothers tweeted to announce the band’s upcoming free concert on the beach.
The Sept. 26 performance will take place after the premier of the fourth season of “Hawaii Five-O” at Queen’s Surf Beach in Waikki, Hawaii.
Fans will want to tune in to the CBS show this season because Nick Jonas will guest star later this fall as “a computer hacker involved in a case that the 5-0 team is investigating whose motives might be even more complicated than they suspect.”
Chris Young is home and recovering after a leg infection affected his tour plans. The singer has released more details about the ailment that earned him a stay at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver.
As we reported last week, Young said he initially didn’t know he was sick. He was headed to a show in Montana when he went into septic shock Aug. 13. It turns out the bacterial infection was caused by a small cut on his leg. Young was given medication to stop the infection from spreading and he also underwent an emergency surgery after midnight Aug. 14 to remove the infection.
He called off a few dates last week and is also rescheduling his Aug. 21 show in Redding, Calif., to Sept. 8. Young will resume touring Aug. 22 when he supports Brad Paisley in Mountain View, Calif., at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.
“I want to thank all my fans for their thoughts and prayers,” Young said. “I received amazing care from Dr. Suarez, Dr. Gill and Dr. Canfield and all the I.C.U. nurses who literally saved my life. I’m happy to be home and can’t wait to get back out on the road.”
The word on the street is that J.C. Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick will join Justin Timberlake on stage when he performs at MTV’s VMAs Sunday.
The rumor comes to you from the New York Post’s sources.
Timberlake’s performance is already confirmed. Plus, he’ll be there to accept the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award.
As for the possibility of an *NSYNC reunion, the former members have recently been hanging out. The Post points out that Bass, Fatone, and Kirkpatrick were seen in the VIP section at Timberlake’s Aug. 16 show with Jay Z in Miami.
