The Minnesota Zoo is honoring late promoter Sue McLean by naming its music stage for her.
The Sue McLean Stage at the Zoo’s Weesner Family Amphitheatre will be dedicated in an Aug. 21 ceremony prior to a Lyle Lovett concert at the venue.

McLean family members will be present for the event at the Zoo, where the longtime promoter booked its annual Music in the Zoo series for nearly 20 years, according to the Pioneer Press.
“Sue McLean was known to say, ‘Live music is good for your soul,’ and so it’s fitting that we honor her with this namesake,” Minnesota Zoo CEO Lee Ehmke told the paper.
McLean died of cancer in May at 63.
