Big Jazz In Little China
The JZ Festival Shanghai, which organizers are calling the biggest jazz festival in both China and Asia, will take place Sept. 20 to Oct. 19 “on the streets of Shanghai or in the parks, theaters and open areas of the city, covering both sides of the river.”
There will also be related events in Beijing, a statement announcing the event continued.
The festival will feature 80 musicians and 200 groups, including Robert Glasper, Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def), John Scofield, Jack DeJohnette, the Brand New Heavies, Lisa Ono and Yoga Lin.
MusicDish China is media sponsor, and also sponsors several major rock festivals in China, including the Midi festivals and the Zebra Music Festival in Shanghai, Chengdu and Shenzhen.
In addition to sponsoring festivals, MusicDish has also partnered with the Sound of the Xity conference and provides distribution and marketing for Western acts who tour China and international management for local artists.
