Pozible Launching In U.S.
It quickly found success in the home market, with 4,300 projects that raised more than $13 million in pledges, and a success rate of 55 percent. It’s opened offices in Melbourne, Sydney and China, and Crabbe estimates Pozible as the third-largest crowd-sourcing site in terms of transaction volume.
Now Pozible is entering the U.S. market, with Crabbe relocating to San Francisco, with a launch date in early October.
The U.S. site offers a combination of features not available from most of its rivals.
These include subscription crowdfunding for users to receive ongoing revenue from one-off and self-hosted crowdfunding to embed a non-branded crowdfunding campaign on their site or domain. Another feature is a live music tool called Pozible Gigs.
“We’ve always wanted to be a global player,” said Crabbe. He added that the U.S. strategy will be similar to that in Australia: work the creative industries on a grassroots level.
