iHeartRadio L.A. Opening

Los Angeles has a new venue in the iHeartRadio Theater, slated to make its debut Oct. 22 with an album release party with Katy Perry.

The 20,000 square foot venue, located at the Burbank Studios in the former home of “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” will feature “intimate performances from top recording artists,” album releases and promotional events.

Performances will be aired live on Clear Channel stations around the country, and recorded and televised via the theater’s Sony 4K production equipment.

“The iHeartRadio Theater Los Angeles will create pop culture events that reach tens of millions of fans across the country live on the radio as well as further extending our reach to video streaming and television platforms,” Clear Channel President of Entertainment Enterprises John Sykes said. “In addition, the new Theater will enable Clear Channel and iHeartRadio to offer artists, labels and advertisers a variety of unique on-air and online promotional and sponsorship opportunities.”

Perry’s party will include a live performance and Q&A.

It airs Oct. 22 on Clear Channel stations and will be televised Oct. 25 on the CW Network.

This will be the second iHeartRadio Theater, with the other being in New York City.
