All Change At FKP Stockholm

A shakeup in FKP Scorpio’s Stockholm office will see the German company take more hands-on control and head promoter Dave Maloney head out to set up on his own.

Scorpio festival bookings chief Stephan Thanscheidt, recently promoted to joint managing director, will take over programming the company’s Swedish festivals from Gunnar Lagerman, who will stay on in a consultancy role.

Thanscheidt is also responsible for the entire programing of FKP Scorpio’s German festivals. Maloney has set up Maloney Concerts with what he describes as “the support and financial backup” of Scorpio.

The two companies have signed a long-term cooperation agreement and will work closely together on shows and festivals.

Maloney will at least know his competitors, as he’s worked for most of them.

He left Live Nation to join AEG in September 2007, staying three years until AEG shuttered its Swedish office in 2010. Maloney can be reached at [email protected] or +46.76.840.8634.

“The positive trend at our Swedish festivals shows that we are on the right track,” said FKP Scorpio chief Folkert Koopmans. “Now is the time to take the next step and set the course for the future.”

Koopmans himself will run the Swedish touring business, although giving more responsibility to current staffers Rickard Nilsson and Marcus Lossell.
