Arcade Fire, Live As The Reflektors
The Canadian indie group’s fourth studio album, which is the inspiration for the Arcade Fire’s pseudonym, has been well-received by critics from Rolling Stone’s 4.5 out of five stars to Pitchfork’s 9.2 out of 10 rating.
Rolling Stone describes Reflektor as the best album the band has ever made. The magazine notes that the way Win Butler and Re´gine Chassagne harmonize on the title track is “a perfect summary of their group’s still-fervent indie-born hunger after a decade of mainstream success.”
Fans will have more chances to check out the new tunes live during the next weeks.
After playing Brooklyn and Miami earlier this month as The Reflektors, the group’s next stop is Los Angeles.
As Pollstar previously reported, Arcade Fire is performing at a secret location Oct. 29 as part of “The Music Experiment,” presented by MTV Iggy and Intel. Fan twitter account @ArcadeFiretube claims the gig (which is actually being billed as Arcade Fire) will take place outside the Capitol Records building, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the show starting at 6:30 p.m. To attend the show you’ll need to win tickets through a contest MusicExperiment.com is running.
The band will also play “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Oct. 29.
Two days later Arcade Fire will take the stage as The Reflektors at Los Angeles’ Palladium. Tickets are on sale.
Win, Re´gine and the gang will take The Reflektors overseas in November for a handful of European dates. Gigs have been confirmed with the venues at London’s Roundhouse Nov. 11-12 and in Glasgow, Scotland, at Barrowland Nov. 15-16. Tickets go on sale Nov. 1.
According to @ArcadeFiretube, The Reflektors are also set to play Blackpool, England, at the Empress Ballroom Nov. 27. As of the time of this post, the venue wasn’t listing the performance on its site yet. Plus, The Reflektors are also reportedly headed to Paris Nov. 22 with the venue TBA.
As with the earlier Reflektors shows, @ArcadeFire reminds fans that “formal attire or costume is mandatory.”
