Dizzy New Neil Finn Dates
Finn’s new LP, Dizzy Heights, is due out Feb. 10. Fans who pre-order the album will instantly receive the tunes “Divebomber” and “Flying In The Face Of Love.” Check out the video for “Divebomber” at the end of this post.
The New Zealand musician talked about teaming up with Dizzy Heights co-producer Dave Fridmann, whose resume includes working with such acts as The Flaming Lips and Tame Impala.
“I didn’t want to make it a solo record in a stripped back signer-songwriter sort of way … I had a feeling Dave would be good at adding some odd shapes to the music, which I always welcome – making things a little more expansive. He is good at subverting things, and making things sound a bit messed up and not as obvious, rather than being too tasteful, which is always a temptation.”
Next week Finn has a few sold-out shows lined up – Nov. 19 at Los Angeles’ Largo and Nov. 21 at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge. After that he’ll take the stage at London’s St James Church Nov. 27.
Following an Australian tour, Finn will be back in North America in late March. Here’s the plan:
March 30 – Seattle, Wash., The Neptune
April 1 – San Francisco, Calif., Palace Of Fine Arts Theatre
April 2 – Los Angeles, Calif., Orpheum Theatre
April 5 – Toronto, Ontario, Queen Elizabeth Theatre
April 7 – Boston, Mass., Shubert Theatre – Citi Performing Arts Center
April 8 – New York, N.Y., Town Hall
April 10 – New Haven, Conn., Shubert Theater
April 11 – Glenside, Pa., Keswick Theatre
April 12 – Washington, D.C., Lincoln Theatre
A fanclub presale is ongoing now for select dates. Additional presales are scheduled this week and general onsales are set for Nov. 15.
