The “World’s Loudest Month” got noisier today with the addition of one new festival scheduled in Fort Myers, Fla., in late April.

Created by AEG Live and Danny Wimmer Presents, the World’s Loudest Month is the umbrella name for what organizers like to say are the most thunderous festivals in the land.  Included are “Monster Energy’s Welcome To Rockville” in Northern Florida (April 26-27); “Carolina Rebellion” in Charlotte, N.C. (May 3-4); “Rock On The Range” in Columbus, Ohio (May 16-18); “Rocklahoma” in Pryor, Okla. (May 23-25); and “RockFest” in Kansas City, Mo. (May 31).

Now you can add “Fort Rock,” a one-day decibel blast scheduled for April 26 in Fort Myers, Fla., that will have a one-day overlap with “Welcome To Rockville.”

“I’ve been saying all year that I keep hearing rock is ‘dead.’ Yet record numbers attend our shows every year,” co-executive producer Danny Wimmer said.  “Our festivals are for music fans who buck trends and remain true to the music they like.

“Our job as tastemakers in rock and roll is to find the markets where music fans are underserved and I am happy to add Fort Rock to our World’s Loudest Month and include it on the same weekend with Welcome To Rockville.”

Lineups and additional information for all World’s Loudest Month festivals will be revealed early next year. Click here for the website and here for the Facebook page.
