Pendergrass Estate Fight To Be Continued In Pa.

A legal fight over the estate of R&B singer Teddy Pendergrass is playing out in a suburban Philadelphia courtroom.

A judge in Montgomery County has heard conflicting testimony about a will ostensibly signed by Pendergrass in May 2009.

The document names Pendergrass’ son as executor and sole beneficiary. But widow Joan Pendergrass – the crooner’s second wife – contends it’s a forgery.

The Intelligencer of Doylestown reports the case hinges on whether Teddy Pendergrass was able to sign or initial documents.

The singer was paralyzed in a Philadelphia car accident in 1982. He died of colon cancer in 2010 at age 59.
