Garth Brooks Announces First 2014 Gigs
The country star will reunite with his band at the Sin City venue Jan. 3-4. Two shows are planned each night at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m.
Wouldn’t the first weekend of the year be the perfect opportunity to announce a 2014 tour? After playing shows on his own at the Wynn since 2009, maybe the January gigs with his band are a warm-up for a full-fledged tour.
Since officially retiring from recording and performing in 2000 Brooks has returned to the stage for the Las Vegas residency as well as shows here and there including nine sold-out nights at Kansas City’s Sprint Center in 2007 and five shows over two days at Los Angeles’ Staples Center in 2008.
Brooks has said he doesn’t want to make any tour plans until after his youngest daughter graduates high school. It just so happens that she graduates in 2014.
The singer has been hinting at something big happening. In October he emailed fans saying, “The sevens have aligned. It has begun … Thank you for believing…love, g.”
During an interview with CBS Morning in August, Trisha Yearwood confessed that she and Brooks are planning to tour together in 2014.
“This will be our third go round but it’ll be a whole different ballgame, you know, as man and wife, to go do this together. So, I’m looking forward to it.”
Fans are looking forward to it too.
Tickets for the Wynn shows went on sale this morning.
