Tourism Sings The Blues

The New South Wales (NSW) Tourism Awards are singing the blues.

At the Nov. 28 event in Sydney, the inaugural 2013 Deni Blues & Roots Festival won the award for best festival & event and won bronze in new tourism development.

It was produced by Chugg Entertainment, Rob Potts Entertainment and Deni Play on the Plains Festival with a bill with SantanaStatus QuoJason MrazChris IsaakBonnie Raitt and Zac Brown Band

Bluesfest Byron Bay won gold in major festival and events, after Paul SimonRobert Plant and Santana helped draw 85,000 over Easter.

More than half of the fans came from outside NSW, helping the festival inject A$150.6 million ($137.19 million) to the NSW economy.

Bluesfest founder Peter Noble said, “What an honour to receive a NSW Tourism Award three years in a row, we are proud to be representing NSW in the Australian Tourism Awards in February next year.”
