Super Bowl Weekend Shows: Foo Fighters & More
Super Bowl XLVIII is scheduled Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, N.J.
Following last month’s announcement that the Bud Light Hotel would take place on a cruise ship docked on New York’s Hudson River, this week the official beer sponsor of the NFL broke the news that it will construct the Bud Light Hotel Amphitheatre to host the Super Bowl weekend concerts and parties.
The heated venue will be located across the street from the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City. Bud Light is also setting up an adjacent two-level, 1,500-capacity venue its calling the Bud Light Hotel Lounge to host events during the day and late-night after-parties.
Super Bowl weekend fun begins with a tribute to hip hop in the Big Apple Jan. 30 called “The Roots Present Hip Hop NYC.” Curated by The Roots, the event hosted by EA Sports and Bud Light will feature Run DMC, Busta Rhymes and special guests.
Next up is the “Pandora Presents” party starring Imagine Dragons Jan. 31.
The Foo Fighters headline the Bud Light Main Event concert Feb. 1, which will also include a performance from Zac Brown Band.
Before the big game starts Feb. 2, Fall Out Boy and Jake Owen will take the stage at Pepsi and Bud Light’s pre-game concert.
The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration is set for Jan. 31 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. The 15th annual event will feature Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, Patti LaBelle, Natalie Grant and Tamela Mann.
The festivities also include the NFL Players Choir, special appearances by NFL players, the Super Bowl Gospel Multi-Cultural Choir and surprise guests.
