Blue Rodeo Doesn’t Go Dark
Blue Rodeo, which played Encana Event Center in Dawson Creek in British Columbia Jan. 14, was onstage when the lights went out in the northeast portion of the Canadian province, but the band played on.
More than 14,000 utilities customers in Dawson Creek reportedly went without power.
Blue Rodeo decided to remain onstage, turning its show into a 100-minute acoustic set.
Global Spectrum staffers fired up the PA system, which runs on the backup generator, and gave Blue Rodeo wireless mics.
Halfway through the acoustic set, the band invited the audience to come down to the floor and stand close to the stage.
Blue Rodeo didn’t let a little thing like a city-wide power outage from stopping its show at Encana Events Centre in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Jan. 14.
Fans apparently took kindly to the band’s decision to stick around, giving Blue Rodeo nice comments on Twitter and Facebook.
