Berlin On The East Coast

It’s not often that Berlin plays gigs east of the mighty Mississippi.  However, the Los Angeles-based band has lined up a few shows along the Atlantic Seaboard with the first stop in New Jersey at the end of April.

Animal,  the seventh studio album from Terri Nunn & Co., dropped in September and reminded folks that Berlin’s music was a staple at dance clubs during the ’80s.  Described as Nunn’s “re-ignited love affair with current electronic music,” Animal was praised by Popdose as “a full-on dance record, packed with wall-to-wall beats.” Huffington Post loved it as well, calling Nunn the “goddess of new wave” and saying she “has maintained a distinct core sound while continuing to exude a strong and intriguing appeal.”

But Berlin has stuck close to the Pacific Ocean during the past few years.  Although the band played the South Carolina Pride Festival in September, the last time Berlin actually did a string of dates on the East Coast was its 2011 summer journey.
