Melbourne Under Spotlight At SxSW
The Australian city of Melbourne is under the spotlight at a South By Southwest panel.
Global Music Cities, on March 15, also looks at Austin and Berlin.
The panel will be moderated by Melbourne media academic and live music activist Dr. Andrea Baker. Baker is to publish her second book, “Global Music Cities,” based on her research residencies at Austin’s University of Texas and Berlin’s Freie Universität’s Institute for Arts.
Also on the SXSW panel are Don Pitts, Austin’s music program manager, and Christian Morin, who founded Berlin’s Headquarter Entertainment agency and helped to establish Music Board, the Government’s initiative to promote local music.
