Judges Voting On Taite Music Prize

Ten judges from radio, print and academic circles are currently voting in the annual Taite Music Prize.

Named after the late journalist Dylan Taite to unearth the most creative New Zealand album of each year, the winner is unveiled April 16 at an invitation-only event at Auckland’s Galatos.

The nominated albums are Lorde’s Pure Heroine which sold 1 million in the United States, Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s II which took best alternative album at the New Zealand Music Awards, hard rock band Beastwars’ Blood Becomes Fire, indie rock band The Phoenix Foundation’s fifth album Fandago, hip hop artist David Dallas’ third album Falling Into Place, which debuted at No. 2 on the New Zealand chart, Egospect by Sheep Dog & Wolf aka one man band Daniel McBride, hip hop band @peace’s Girl Songs and The Brunettes’ co-founder Jonathan Bree’s solo debut The Primrose Path.
