UK Gov Gives Up On Touts

The All Party Parliamentary Group looking into secondary ticketing appears to have given up trying to talk to the touts.

It tried to schedule a meeting with them for Jan. 29 but Viagogo, Seatwave, Stubhub and GetMeIn were apparently all busy that day.

The group had no more success when trying to schedule another meeting at the end of March.

The only one who was prepared to attend was Ticketmaster Resale International managing director Christoph Homann, so he sat in on a discussion with the primary sellers March 5.

“The last meeting was the last in the series,” Mike Forster from MP Sharon Hodgson’s office told Pollstar. “The only other one we were going to have was with the secondaries but as GetMeIn was the only one keen to engage we just put Christoph in with other ticketers.”

The next chance the APPG gets to pow-wow with the ticket business could be March 19 as it’s been invited to a roundtable discussion at the Ticketing Technology Forum at the Wembley Hilton.

Unfortunately this time it may be the MPs that have to cry off. They’ll be expected to be in the House Of Commons, as it’s the same day Chancellor George Osborne is to deliver his new budget.
