A Few More Things: Rush, Pitchfork, Electric Picnic
Rush’s Alex Lifeson says the band is looking at spring 2015 for its next trek, which marks 41 years since Neil Peart joined the band, taking over on drums for John Rutsey. 1974 was also the same year the band released its self-titled debut album.
“We haven’t really talked seriously about what we want to do,” Lifeson told Rolling Stone. But I think we’re probably going to lean towards making it a real sort of fan event, and really try to put something together that’s very pleasing for the fans across the board. That’s always been difficult, for us to sort of balance things.”
The guitarist added that after supporting 2012’s Clockwork Angels on its last tour, he wants to mix in some different material on the setlist.
“I’ve always wanted to do some rarer Rush material, and this should be a good opportunity to do that.”
