Graspop Opens Early For Local Acts

Sponsored by Belgian brewer Jupiler, which produces the country’s best-selling beer, the day will also celebrate the opening of a new stage, which is naturally being called the Jupiler Stage.

Diablo Blvd, Evil Invaders, Ostrogoth, and Dyscordia are on the bill.

Later, Graspop’s Marquee Stage will show the World Cup soccer match between Belgium and the Republic of South Korea.

The Metal Dome, which was opened a decade ago, will stage the three winners of the Red Bull Bedroom Jam, a social media-driven competition that gives young rock acts the chance to perform to the world from their bedroom.

Red Bull is another major Graspop sponsor. The three winners will be chosen at the Bedroom Jam Finals, which are at Trix in Antwerp May 11.

The Juliper and Red Bull day is June 26 and is free entry to those who’ve bought a full three-day pass to the 50,000-capacity event.

No separate day tickets are available.

The acts playing Graspop Metal Meeting June 27-29 include Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Limp Bizkit, Volbeat, Avenged Sevenfold, Slayer, and Soundgarden.
