Lotte Hall Taps Eui-joon

Kim Eui-joon, the former general director of the Korea National Ballet, was named president of the new Lotte Hall currently under construction in the Jamsil district of Seoul.

Lotte Hall will mainly be used for classical music performances.

Kim had already handed in his resignation as the head of the ballet earlier this year, but the resignation wasn’t accepted until March 31 as the ballet would have been without a chief.

His stint at president of Lotte Hall begins May 1, according to the Korea Times.

Before taking over the Korean National Ballet in August 2011, Kim was the president of the  for 15 years.

He started his career at the  in 1984.
