The event at Crystal City Underground, described as an underground family entertainment and event center, included dancing, magicians and multiple music stages and ran from 4 p.m. April 5 until 7 the next morning, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

An attorney for Fiesta Corp., which owns the facility, said a woman died outside the venue but he was awaiting further details from local law enforcement officials.

The Underground is a former silica mine approximately one square mile in area.

Attorney Bob Kister told the paper the event drew about 4,000 fans, about twice the number expected.

“There were no problems inside the cave that I’m aware of whatsoever,” he said, adding Crystal City Underground has “an absolutely strict no-tolerance policy for underage drinking or use of controlled substances.”
