Stones Guitar On Charity Auction Block

A Fender Stratocaster signed by members of The Rolling Stones will go to the highest bidder at San Diego-based nonprofit Photocharity’s Celebration of Hope gala dinner and auction.

Although the dinner and auction at the Del Mar Hilton isn’t until May 3, bids can be placed by downloading an auction bid and donation form.

Sale of the instrument will help fund Photocharity’s “Taking Music & Arts To The Streets” program, which aims to break the cycle of homelessness for area youth ages 12-24 by providing medical evaluations as well as clothing, music and art classes and more.

Bidding for the guitar and its custom case begins at $36,000.

Not only is “Taking Music & Arts To The Streets” making inroads in the fight against youth homelessness, but the program was named “Best Youth Program in Ocean Beach” in 2013 by the town council, U.S. Congressman Scott Peters and others.
