Free Earplugs In Minneapolis

The Minneapolis City Council approved an ordinance that requires all venues featuring live music to supply patrons with free ear plugs starting April 19.

The decision reportedly affects about 185 bars, clubs and other venues who are required to comply as a condition of their liquor licenses.

The earplugs will be supplied to the venues at no cost via the private partnership of Locally Grown, Globally Known, 3M and Miracle-Ear Foundation with the goal of curtailing hearing damage, which can occur after 15 minutes of exposure to 100 decibels.
