The entertainment blogosphere went into overdrive last night as reports surfaced that a Southern California woman was accusing the singer of attempted cell phone theft.

Evidently Bieber and his posse played a few holes of miniature golf and got some time in at the batting cages at Sherman Oaks Castle Park in California’ s San Fernando Valley Monday evening.  But things didn’t go smoothly for the Bieb.  According to TMZ, the poster and his crew got into an “altercation” with “some guys at the batting cage.”

That’s when Bieber supposedly saw an unidentified woman reaching for her cell phone.  Evidently thinking she had taken some photos, he reportedly demanded that she turn the device over to him so he could erase the images.  But she refused and that that’s when Bieber allegedly reached into her purse and grabbed the device.

“The woman says she began wrestling with Bieber, trying to get her phone back,” TMZ reported.

But it was a wasted effort.  The phone was locked, resulting in Bieber returning the phone to the woman and demanding that she show him the photos he suspected her to have.  But there were none to be found.

At this point the woman is reported to have told Bieber that she and her 13-year-old daughter merely wanted to meet the singer.  To which he reportedly responded, “You’re humiliating yourself in front of your daughter.  Why don’t you just get out of here.”

The woman later filed a complaint with police.  LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera told the Los Angeles Times that the singer has been accused of attempted theft but the detectives have yet to talk to him.

The alleged incident is the latest Bieber caper, coming after he was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving without a license in Florida.
