Industry Noize: Guillotte To Head ESA Canada
The Event Safety Alliance has appointed Pierre Guillotte to chair its newly formed Canadian affiliate.
Guillotte is senior production manager of Cirque du Soleil and will oversee the activities of ESA Canada and serve as its primary ambassador within the territory.
ESA Canada was created in response to interest in production pros throughout the Canadian event industry, and will soon begin the process of adapting the U.S. version of the Event Safety Guide to conform to Canadian guidelines, according to a statement.
Guillote began his entertainment career in the late 1970s, working with such acts as Simple Minds, Julio Iglesias and Anne Murray.
He joined Cirque du Soleil in the early 1990s and oversees four full-time touring productions including “Michael Jackson: The Immortal” world tour.
