Melbourne Unveils Music Strategy Draft

The City of Melbourne, Australia, released a draft of The Melbourne Music Strategy 2014-17 on how it can support and help grow the Melbourne music scene over the next three years.

The 15-strong advisory body represented venues, music and film associations, college radio, academics and musicians.

The 18 recommendations included activities in the city throughout the day, an audit of spaces for bands to rehearse, promote its music heritage online, and encourage overseas collaborations to brand Melbourne as a global music city.

The draft is on the City’s website until May 30 for community feedback.
