Private paramedics hired for the all-ages event were overwhelmed by the number of people who needed hospitalization from drug- and alcohol-related issues, the Toronto Sun reported, and city emergency services were called to the arena.
Toronto Councilor Giorgio Mammoliti, a critic of all-ages raves, told the paper he estimates the cost of hospital bills and EMS care from the concert could top $100,000.
“At the next meeting of city council I will be requesting a report from staff on the cost of emergency services and hospital ward beds related to this event,” Mammoliti said.
He added that it’s irresponsible to allow minors to attend all-ages events and argued against allowing the city’s Exhibition Place to host such shows.
