Tapping On Signs With AEG & Samsung

If you’ve seen anyone tapping a cell phone against a sign during at concert or other live event during the past few weeks, chances are you were in an AEG venue and the handheld was a Samsung Galaxy.

That’s because AEG and Samsung Telecommunications America have partnered to deliver the Samsung Galaxy Owner’s experience to folks at select AEG venues or venues operated by the company.  The sizzle behind the technological steak is that fans can win instant rewards such as VIP luxury suite experiences access to club areas and more merely by taking their Samsung Galaxy device to an event held at a participating venue.

How does this work?  Connecting the device with prizes is “near field communication” technology (NFC) embedded within Galaxy Owner signage placed throughout a venue.  Tap a Galaxy device against the phone and voila! – you just might snag concession vouchers, seat upgrades, VIP access to lounges and suites.  Or, in the case of sporting events, you just might get your hands on free team merch.  You can also win music downloads via Samsung’s Milk Music streamer powered by Slacker.
