Five In A Row For Summerjam

German promoter Klaus Maack was pleased to see his reggae-oriented Summerjam Festival sell out is 30,000 capacity for the fifth year in a row, particularly as German acts figured high among the headliners.

The three-day tickets all went in advance. Berlin-based reggae outfit Seeed topped the bill on one night, while electronic rap artist Marteria was the main attraction on another.

Maack says that two national headliners attracted a younger audience, reducing the average age from late 20s to early 20s.

“Very nice vibes, tropical weather including tropical rain from time to time – which was a blessing,” was his take on the gathering at Fühlinger, near Cologne.

Next year will be Summerjam’s 30th anniversary. The other acts helping the festival sell out again July 4-6 included Anthony B.Christopher Martin, and Dilated Peoples.
