“It will be a few months before we know the final economic result, but with more than 100,000 tickets sold and great numbers coming in from the drinks and food sales, we are very positive in our expectations,” said festival press chief Christina Bilde.

The 100,000 tickets would include full festival passes and one-day tickets. “It’s impressive to see several generations of music lovers connected in a blast of rock history with The Rolling Stones on our opening night,” said Roskilde head of programming Anders Wahrén.

The other acts helping Roskilde make money for good causes June 28 to July 6 included Arctic MonkeysJack WhiteStevie WonderOutkast, and Damon Albarn.
