More Good Stuff From Ryan Adams
The 10-track 1984 is the next installment in Adams’ Pax-Am 7-inch series. Set for release Aug. 19, the record is the singer/songwriter’s “homage to the halcyon days of the earliest releases from Dischord, SST, Touch & Go and their ilk.” 1984 is available for pre-order now and is limited to one per customer.
If you’re wondering about the connection to Adams’ upcoming self-titled LP, rest assured that 1984 “is a concise, intense and completely self-contained musical statement, recorded and released completely separate from the upcoming album.”
Speaking of the self-titled album, the LP is due out Sept. 9, featuring the single “Gimme Something Good.” Rolling Stone says, if “the lead single … is any indication, the album will contain more of the blues-tinged, post–college rock that earned him fans in the first place.”
