Industry Noize: Arena GM Retires After 36 Years

Cross Insurance Arena GM Steven Crane is stepping down after 36 years in the position at the Portland, Maine, venue formerly known as the Cumberland County Civic Center.

His retirement follows the completion of several goals at the 8,200-capacity arena, including a building renovation, naming rights and a hockey deal, according to the Portland Sun.

During his time at the helm, the paper estimates Crane oversaw 5,416 events, including 740 concerts and 1,547 professional hockey games.
