Industry Noize: MetLife Stadium Security Honored
The home of the NFL’s Giants and Jets hosted the Super Bowl in February. “We’re honored to be recognized by the sports industry and the NFL for the accomplishments by our security team in creating a safe, comfortable and secure environment for our guests,” said MetLife Stadium President and CEO Brad Mayne.
The stadium, which was nominated for the award by the NFL, also won in 2011. The award is presented by National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security at The University of Southern Mississippi.
MetLife Stadium in 2013 became the first NFL stadium to achieve SAFETY Act Certification from the Department of Homeland Security, meaning its physical and electronic protective measures are designated and certified as qualified anti-terrorism technology by the United States Government.
