Nugent’s Facebook Moment?

It’s nothing new: Nugent’s latest controversies began last month with a similar comment after calling protestors, who happen to be Native American, at his shows “unclean vermin.” Nugent said at the time it was a “soulless act” for anyone to misconstrue that remark as a direct attack on “my American Indian BloodBrothers.”

However, Nugent played Sturgis, S.D., at Full Throttle Saloon, home of the reality television show of the same name, and there were some Native American protestors. The next day he went to Facebook, praising his show but also mentioning “4 stinkyass unclean dipshit protestors.” One commenter said “Maybe the natives shoulda had better weapons” and Nugent replied, “less peyote less whoopin & hollerin.”

However, when brought to task for the association between “stinkyass” and the lineage of the protestors, he replied, “never did oh insanely gullible 1. how fkn stupid can u be.”

Nugent is set to play a show tonight in Maumee, Ohio, at the Lucas County Fairgrounds. The event, which is scheduled as part of the “Northwest Ohio Rib Off,” is sponsored by the Toledo Blade newspaper. A Facebook page has been set up to organize a protest.

Nugent’s full Facebook post reads as follows:
