Bieber Bribery? That’s The $10,000 Question

A Canadian border official has reportedly been fired from her job for allegedly accepting a bribe worth $10,000 to let members of Justin Bieber’s entourage enter the country.

The incident supposedly took place at the Niagara Falls border crossing and involved “$10,000 worth of backstage passes” to allow members of Bieber’s entourage who have criminal records to cross the border into Canada, reports Now magazine, citing two Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers.

There is no indication that Bieber was actually involved in the alleged bribery, nor does Now state when it happened.  The last time Bieber headlined concerts in Canada was when he played shows in Toronto and Ottawa in late July 2013.

Now does say that the incident came to light when other friends of The Bieb expected the same treatment from border crossing officials.

The magazine also printed a copy of a memo issued last week by the CBSA reminding agents that they “are expected to conduct themselves to the highest professional standards.”  That same memo confirmed that an investigation of “employee misconduct” in the “Southern Ontario Region” was ongoing, but did not mention Bieber’s name.
