Mullins Upgrades Complete
Renovations for the Mullins Center in Amherst, Mass., have been completed on schedule.

Upgrades continue Aug. 22
The University of Massachusetts, Amherst, venue underwent a lighting and seating upgrade announced in May and completed in August. The 10,500-capacity building has new LED sports lighting, replacing HID lighting and is expected to cut the energy bill by 50 to 75 percent.
The lighting is also expected to be brighter and can be adjusted for each performance.
The seats, installed in 1993, have had significant wear and tear, and 3,594 of them have received new upholstery.
Additionally, 7,705 seats have cup holders installed.
