Miami's dormant Marine Stadium will soon get a facelift.

The group leading restoration efforts, Friends of Miami Marine Stadium, was recently awarded a $180,000 grant from the foundation to help reopen the landmark facility.

Friends of Miami Marine Stadium is in the midst of a $30 million fundraising campaign and will hire specialists to evaluate how best to restore the venue’s exterior and its structural details, the Miami Herald reported, while preserving graffiti that has become part of the iconic venue’s identity.

The venue has been shuttered since suffering damage from Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Gloria Estefan, who’s played the 6,000-seat Marine Stadium in the past, committed $500,000 to the project in July.
