Creative Insolvent
Creative chief Carlos Fleischmann filed its application for insolvency as the local district court in Berlin-Charlottenburg Sept. 11.
Thomas Kühn from Brinkmann & Partner, one of the country’s biggest insolvency lawyers, has taken over at the helm of the company. “For the concert promoter CT Creative Talent, the cancellation of the Backstreet Boys tour in the summer in addition to other large events that failed to take place represented the provisional end to a below-par concert summer,” Brinkmann & Partner said in a statement. “To date, it has not been possible to absorb the financial losses incurred as a result. To safeguard its future solvency, the company’s management therefore decided to file an application for insolvency.”
Apart from Backstreet Boys, Fleischmann was also forced to scrap a tour with Snoop Dogg and Creative’s Greenville Festival.
When the news stories broke, Fleischmann was said to have asked Creative’s creditors to back off until the end of August. Apart from being a national tour and festival promoter, Fleischmann is also a successful sports agent and represents some top soccer players. He told Pollstar the sports agency business isn’t affected by the collapse of the live music promoting company.
