‘Ikey’ Owens Dies

Isaiah “Ikey” Owens, keyboardist for Jack White and The Mars Volta, has died during White’s tour of Mexico. 

Owens was found dead in his Pueblo, Mexico, hotel room Oct. 14, according to Periodico Digital. Authorities reportedly found drugs and alcohol in the room but the cause of death was undetermined at press time.

Owens, of Long Beach, Calif., has toured with White since 2012 and is on both of his solo albums.

He previously toured with The Mars Volta as well as Free Moral Agents and other bands.

White has canceled the remainder of his Mexico tour out of respect.
