The first announcement, a firepower of 24 acts, included Avicii, The Prodigy, Die Antwoord, Kiesza, Art Department, Nero, Example, 2 Chainz, Sven Väth, Sigma and a Dutch contingent of Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Yellow Claw, BlasterJaxx and Bassjackers.

The festival lands at Royal Randwick Racecourse, Sydney (Feb. 28), Arena Joondalup, Perth (March 1), Brisbane Showgrounds (March 7), Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne (March 8) and Adelaide Showground (March 9).

New York City production designer James Klein, responsible for Miami’s Ultra Music, will create new stages.

Organisers promised “state-of-the-art sound, spine-tingling light rigs that’ll explode with pyrotechnic climaxes [and] new audio technologies to hit you in the stomach at every corner of our venues.”

In the meantime, Future Music Asia will not in 2015 return to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, its home since its launch three years ago.

Director Brett Robinson said his plan is to move it around Asia.

He told The Music Network, “We had a three-year deal in KL and we are now building towards an announcement next month in a different Asian city; but we’ve got great Government support from that city and we’ve got a lot of strong support from that city.”
