Alt-J From South To North America
The new U.S. gigs are scheduled along with the indie rock band’s previously announced show at Madison Square Garden.
Alt-J is taking over three continents and counting in 2015 as it continues to support its second studio album, This Is All Yours, which was released in September.
NPR’s Bob Boilen, who calls Alt-J his “favorite band of the decade,” describes the sophomore effort as “another eclectic mix of English folk and art rock, with disturbing and intoxicating lyrics, rhythms and melodies that shift, fall apart and explode.” Boilen adds, “It’s been looping endlessly in my head since I first heard it.”
Alt-J wraps 2014 with a few headline gigs and a bunch of holiday radio shows. Tonight you’ll find the guys at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre.
In addition to the appearances at Lollapalooza Argentina, Brazil and Chile, Alt-J is also playing Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota, Columbia. The festivals, which are scheduled between March 12-29, haven’t released their daily lineups yet.
