Cher Cancels All Dates

After months of postponing shows and rescheduling dates due to illness, Cher has put the kibosh on her “Dressed To Kill” tour.

The bad news arrived today in the form of a short announcement that trumpeted the tour’s achievements, including the 49 sold-out concerts Cher performed before a virus affecting her kidney function forced her off of the road.

The first indication that Cher’s health wasn’t quite up to snuff happened two months ago when she announced a viral infection was the culprit making her postpone the first two nights of her fall D2K tour originally scheduled to begin Sept. 11 in Albany, N.Y.  Three days later she announced that she was postponing eight more shows on the tour.  More changes followed and earlier this month she postponed her remaining November gigs and said the tour would resume Dec. 2 in Albany and continue through early February.

Now, as doctors advise the singer to take more time off in order to facilitate a complete recovery, Cher has canceled the remaining dates of the tour.

“I am totally devastated.  Nothing like this has ever happened to me,” Cher said.  “I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets.  I’m so proud of this show.  It is my best ever.  I sincerely hope that we can come back again next year and finish what we started.”
