SFX Gets Half Of Alda

Robert F.X. Sillerman’s SFX Entertainment continued mopping up the global dance music market by purchasing half of Dutch promoter Alda Holding.

Amsterdam-based Alda runs international tours for the likes of Armin van Buuren and Hardwell, and promotes or co-promotes festivals including A Day at the Park, Electronic Family and Amsterdam Music Festival.

It produces the Amsterdam event with locally based ID&T, which SFX acquired for $130 million in October 2013.

The financial details of the Alda deal haven’t been disclosed. Alda was founded in 2007 by David Lewis and Allan Hardenberg, whose Alda Events has been behind 130 shows in 33 countries in the last two years.

Alda will continue to operate as an independent company under current chief exec Hardenberg, who will now also be responsible for SFX’s touring division.

“Combining Alda Events’ international touring expertise and extensive roster of artists with SFX’s comprehensive portfolio enables both companies to bring bigger, better EMC experiences to fans all around the globe,” Sillerman said.

Hardenberg said it had been Alda’s vision to provide dance lovers with high-quality musical experiences and dance events, and SFX shares and encourages that vision.
