Poland, with a population of about 39 million, has improved its stadiums and transport infrastructure since staging the Euro 2012 soccer championship.

Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation, has a well-established promoting business in Poland, headed by its Central & Eastern Europe chief Steve Todd.

The new Ticketmaster business will be headed by Iwona Zuber-Fiuczek, whose wealth of experience in the tickets business includes a spell as managing director of Ticket Online, now owned by German ticketing giant CTS Eventim. Zuber-Fiuczek says she believes Ticketmaster’s “technology and service” will ensure that Polish fans have an “even better live entertainment experience.”

“This provides another market for Ticketmaster to further build on its global base,” said LN president and chief exec Michael Rapino.

Ticketmaster International president Mark Yovich said the Polish expansion is an opportunity to benefit from Poland’s “huge potential for growth and vibrant live entertainment scene.”

Ticketmaster now has offices in more than 20 countries.
