Live Nation Announces Major Texas Venue
The state-of-the-art facility, opening spring 2016, will be an anchor of the city’s upcoming entertainment and restaurant complex called The Music Factory, and will service the Dallas/Ft. Worth market.
The Pavilion, which will be owned and operated by Live Nation, is developed by Charlotte, N.C.-based ARK Group.
The venue as well as the entertainment/restaurant district are considered welcome additions to Irving, a city known for being populated with office buildings. Irving is 20 minutes from Dallas and 30 from Ft. Worth.
During the summer concert season, the Pavilion will act as a traditional amphitheatre with a 4,000-capacity, 65,000-square-foot lawn area. In the wintertime, a curtaining system will convert the Pavilion into a 4,000-capacity theatre.
The development was announced at the House of Blues Dallas by Bob Roux, Live Nation co-president of North American Concerts, Dec. 3.
“Live Nation is truly fortunate to have had this opportunity to work with the ARK Group on this state-of-the-art development,” Roux said in a statement. “The Pavilion’s versatility and intimacy, combined with terrific sightlines and excellent acoustics, will provide music fans an absolutely incredible concert experience.”
Danny Eaton, COO Live Nation Dallas, added that this will be the first venue of its size dedicated to live music, entertainment and special events constructed in the area over the last decade.
The Music Factory project is expected to incorporate 210,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, including a movie theatre, bowling alley, and more than 20 entertainment and restaurant options.
The development will be serviced by the DART Orange Line and be adjacent to the newly opened Irving Convention Center. There is also a transit system station that can transport patrons from Las Colinas.
