Rocky Mountain Comeback?

AEG principal Philip Anschutz is reportedly weighing a bid to revive the Rocky Mountain News, the venerable Denver newspaper that ceased publication in 2009 after nearly 150 years.

The Denver Business Journal reported that Anschutz’s Clarity Media Group has posted a prototype newspaper online and is researching the feasibility of resurrecting the Rocky Mountain News.

Clarity President/CEO Ryan McKibben told the Journal readers can comment on the prototype, but no decision has been made to republish the paper. He says Anschutz owns the rights to use the newspaper’s nameplate, its Internet address and other intellectual property.
