The  in Columbia, Md., has scored an award from Jack Johnson.

Johnson created the All At Once Sustainability Award to honor elite venues that excelled in reducing waste and taking measures to increase sustainability during his 2014 From Here To Now To You tour.

In a statement to Eye On Anapolis, he thanked venues including the Post Pavilion and its promoter, I.M.P., for leading the music industry in being more environmentally responsible.

“These venues are raising the bar on waste management, plastic free initiatives, healthy and local food options, alternative transportation systems and much more. The concert experience is improved exponentially for fans and musicians when venues care enough to make these important changes. I came away from my experience at these venues inspired,” he said.

Environmental features at Merriweather Post Pavilion include a solar array that powers house and backstage lighting, composting facilities and an onsite biodiesel fueling station for tour vehicles, plus a LEED certified concession stand and restrooms, Eye On Anapolis said. The venue is also reportedly in the midst of expanding its solar capacity, and developing a system to capture storm water runoff for irrigation.
